These individuals work autonomously and are accountable for personal outputs. Their work involves the self-directed application of specialised knowledge and experience to consult, design and manage sequential treatment programs.

They possess highly developed communication and technical skills. Practitioners operate within a defined scope of practice and use initiative and judgement to refuse or refer treatments as required.

Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and skin clinics.

The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.

To receive your Diploma in Cosmetic Tattooing you will need to complete 4 core units and 5 electives (including at least one infection control unit). Please view Course units below.

Diploma will be provided on completion of 4 core units and 5 electives. Please enrol in your chosen units individually.

Student Requirements

  • Basic Language, literacy and numeracy skills in English (LLN)
  • Victorian Student Number (VSN) – Victoria only
  • Unique Student Identifier (USI) – Australia wide
  • Access to a functional pc or tablet device with video recording capabilities, internet access and Chrome internet browser.

Course Duration

Two years

Course Delivery Method

Blended both face to face training and online component.

Assessment Tasks

Demonstrate knowledge required to complete the tasks outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit. Refer to training.gov for more specific examples on assessments and tasks. Video footage of demonstration is acceptable.
